The Piping Tool in the Survey Editor allows you to pipe text from a selected response option into a follow-up question or answer option. The piping tool supports text piping for one-dimensional Single Select questions, one-dimensional Select questions (with only choices), Multi-Select questions, Text or Number questions that have only one response field (i.e., one row or one column), and Autofill elements.
Only text from questions that appear before a question with a pipe can be used for the pipe.
1: Inserting a Pipe
To pipe text into a question, row, column, or choice, click the text field where you want to insert the pipe. Then, click the pipe tool icon in the text editor ribbon.
Select the question that serves as the source for the pipe. Then choose the case in which you want the text to appear and click "Apply" to insert the pipe.
Important: Do not edit or remove anything displayed within brackets or the brackets themselves, as doing so will break the pipe.
