1: About the Slider Decimal Element
The Slider Decimal element utilizes a number form and must contain a value range for its slider points. This element may contain multiple sliders (rows) and does not utilize Flash.
Note: The Slider Decimal question is mobile compatible. The usability of this element decreases as multiple sliders are added.
2: Adding a Slider Decimal Element
Note: You can set the "Show if" filter to display only elements that are compatible or optimized for the devices allowed for your project. See Project Settings Summary to learn how to verify your project settings.
To add a Slider Decimal element, first click the "+ Element" button to add a new survey element. Then click "Rate, Rank, and Sort" under Question Types and select the "Slider Decimal" element. Then click "Add".
Enter the question and instruction text in the areas provided.
3: Adding Sliders
Click "Add Sliders" to enter the text for the sliders.
Tip: If you only want to show one slider decimal with the question text, do not add any response options.
Click "+ New Slider" to add multiple sliders. Each entry will be a new row and have its own slider.
Do not number the response options unless you want the numeric text to appear for survey participants. The system automatically provides the labels / numbers for the response options. These response options can be edited later in "Options".
4: Configuring Slider Options
All response options appear in the question box with labels (e.g., r1, r2, r3), indicating rows / sliders. You may edit the response options by selecting the "Slider Actions" drop-down menu.
Tip: Click "Answer Piping" to show rows based on the answers of a previous question; to learn more, see Answer Piping.
Next, define the range for the slider bar. In the general options for the element, enter the desired range for the slider scale in the "Value Range" field.
5: Style Settings
To edit the display settings for a Slider Decimal element, click the "..." button at the top right of the element in the staging area and select "Update Styling".
In the "Question Display Options" window, use the options on the left to configure the settings for the Slider Decimal element. When you mouse-over an option, information about the feature displays on the right. After you have selected the required styles, click "Save and Close".
