The Net Promoter Score (NPS) element allows survey participants to rate their likeliness to recommend a product or service on a scale of 0-10, following standard Net Promoter System® guidelines.
The default response options for the Net Promoter Score (NPS) element are required for calculating the question's Net Promoter Score® (NPS) and cannot be modified. If desired, however, you may alter the legend to match your company’s brand or language.

1: How it Works
The Net Promoter Score (NPS) element utilizes a Number question base with a 0-10 rating scale. Participants select a value from the scale and their responses are used to automatically calculate the Net Promoter Score for your question.
In Crosstabs, the Net Promoter Score appears alongside a simple gauge chart for each row added to the NPS question. You will also see an indication of whether the score is good, great, excellent, or needs improvement.
Additionally, participant responses are grouped into the following nets:
- Promoter (9-10): The number of survey participants who are most likely to remain loyal to your brand or business and to refer it to other people.
- Passive (7-8): The number of survey participants who are currently satisfied with your brand or business but may defect to a competitor’s product or service.
- Detractor (0-6): The number of survey participants who are unhappy with your brand or business and will likely defect to a competitor’s product or service.
